When a projectile hits a aircraft fuel tank or when a heat source occurs in the fuel tank of an aircraft, there is a risk of explosion. Unless, this is, the fuel tank is equipped with an inerting device such as our on-board inert gas generating system (OBIGGS).

This reduces the oxygen content in fuel vapors inside the tank to less than 9%. The oxygen is separated out by means of hollow polymer fibers of the same type as those used in the mobile gaseous nitrogen generating system (
GMAG).
