Commissioning new production units ![]()
What is your exact job ?
I work very closely with the customer. Once the production units are built, they have to be delivered. My job is to put them on line. I make sure they comply with the specifications and they fulfill the performance conditions for which they were designed. Most of the time, I’m on the site to supervise startup operations during the months before the final delivery to the customer.
What do you like in your work ?
As the units are most often built abroad, that means a lot of international travel, usually for three to six months at a time. I’m currently in Casablanca (Morocco) working on the production unit of our subsidiary to increase its capacity. It’s a very enriching job because the teams I work with are multicultural and the projects, processes and technologies are all different. I’m lucky to have a transversal mission that calls on very diverse know-how (electricity, mechanics, instrumentation, etc.): thanks to the experts I constantly work with, I gain new skills with each new project!
Why is working in the field important to you ?
I like the concrete aspect of my job. The impact of each of my decisions can be measured immediately. Our customers’ satisfaction depends on the quality of my work. This means a lot of responsibilities in a job that is, moreover, international. My opinion is that it’s the best training imaginable!
