Supporting new Electronics projects across Taiwan and China ![]()
How did you join Air Liquide ?
I started in the ALLEX program, our innovative rotational program for fresh engineering graduates. The allure of the program lays in the chance to see 5 different areas of the business in 24 months! I rotated through our Large Industries commercial and operations teams, our Industrial Merchant supply chain management group, our Electronics field support team and finally the Electronics marketing group. I then took a role in business development supporting on-site plant opportunities and helping my group track our product line’s P&L.
What is your current position ?
Based in Tapei, I’m Business Developer, supporting new Electronics projects across Taiwan and China. These customers are building large new plants across Asia that produce state-of-the-art semiconductor materials, photovoltaic technology or LCD panels for TVs. Each plant requires a specific type & amount of gas and my job is to liaise between Sales and Engineering so that we develop the best-suited, most economical solution for the customer. This involves constantly challenging all parties involved on technology, cost and schedule. I work from the technical development phase all the way through generating a commercial proposal and helping deliver final presentations to the customer.
What do you really enjoy in your work ?
I really enjoy staying near the cutting edge of technology (e.g. the latest advances in solar power technology). I work with people from all over the globe and I love when we share our knowledge and different experiences. Above all, I’m most satisfied with the attitude throughout Air Liquide that I’ve felt: anything is possible, if only slightly difficult.
