Running Healthcare projects and improving people’s quality of life

How did you join Air Liquide ?
I’m part of the START program, which offers new graduates from countries around the world the opportunity to work abroad for two or three years and get training before going back to their homeland. Firstly hired as an intern in the Electronics activity, I’m currently product marketing manager in the homecare sector.

What exactly do you do in homecare ?
I take care of the respiratory line. My customers are doctors, patients being treated at home, as well as complementary health insurance companies and social security. My job is to study market expectations – what kind of equipment, what services can be developed to create customer loyalty and win new customers? – and to manage projects that meet these expectations. For example, we recently developed a new service that proposes warning patients when the air is polluted.

Why is your work stimulating ?
I spend a lot of time with the salespeople who work with doctors and patients, I go to international congresses very regularly to stay up to date on medical advances in the respiratory sector, I meet equipment suppliers… My work puts me also internally in contact with a lot of people in the field with the agencies as well as with the departments at the head office: operations, purchasing, information systems, customer service and so on. Apart from working in a team, I also feel like I’m at the heart of the decision-making process and have a strategic influence on projects. Not only do I learn a lot of things, but I also feel like I’m doing a useful job that helps improve the life and comfort of patients. For me, that’s invaluable!
