We can put measures in place and carry out detailed flammability studies to make the use of oxygen in your process safe. We have set up a major knowledge base of the flammable behavior of various mixtures by data capture
Data capture relates to:
Flammability limits: lower flammability limit (LFL), upper flammability limit (UFL), maximum oxygen content (MOC).
Auto-ignition temperature (AIT): this is the lowest temperature for a given pressure at which a mixture catches fire spontaneously within a standard time period.
By making use of our reaction bench at the Claude-Delorme Research Center at Jouy-en-Josas, we can carry out measurements of the LFL, UFL and AIT in static conditions, as well as spontaneous ignition measurements (DT, DP and time periods) for rich hydrocarbon / oxygen / dilutant mixtures in dynamic conditions so as to totally replicate industrial conditions. Among recent applications, we can cite a study into the effect of fuel content and pressure on the auto-ignition temperature of a petrochemical flow, and the influence of gaseous ballast on the area of flammability.
