The Group recruits researchers with highly varied training and career experience: general-purpose engineers, specialist engineers (fluid mechanics, heat engineering, food and agriculture, etc.), academics, chemists, physicists, doctors, pharmacists, anaesthetists, lung specialists, etc.
The Group ensures that its confirmed experts can keep an academic activity (teaching, research, etc.) or continue to perform a medical activity (hospital or non-hospital) part-time.
As of 1995, Air Liquide introduced a programme for recognition of expertise and career development. Today, the purpose of the "Technical Career Lader" (TCL) programme is to recognise the contribution of the Group's technical staff. Parallel to the management development programme, it enables them to develop their career within Air Liquide, while preserving a high degree of technical know-how and expertise. It comprises various levels: expert, senior expert and fellow. The Group currently has a pool of more than 350 experts.
