MIG Welding  [ Return towards  Applications  ]

MIG : metal inert gas welding (inert gases such as argon, helium or mixes).
These mixes are used mainly for sensitive stainless steels and aluminum or copper alloy welding.

MAG : metal active gas welding (the shielding gas contains active elements such as oxygen and carbon dioxide).



Highly flexible and adaptive, those processes are used when you wish to obtain high productivity and high quality results.
This process is used for manual (semi-automatic) welding or automated/robotized installations on low alloy carbon steels, high alloy stainless steels or non-ferrous alloys such as aluminum or copper.

Researchers in the AIR LIQUIDE Group have studied this process to learn more about it and to propose the most suitable shielding gases like ARCAL™.
