ALIGAL™

Since chemicals and food cannot be processed in the same way, we have created the ALIGAL™ line exclusively to match the special quality requirements of the food industry.

Liquid Nitrogen

is the more common gas in the atmosphere. As an inert gas, it is very commonly used in contact with foodstuffs to avoid oxidation or micro-organism growth. Liquefied, it is the most used cryogenic fluid, to chill, freeze or store products.

Beverage grade CO2

To match the extremely high quality requirements of the beverage industry, where CO2 is considered as an ingredient, AIR LIQUIDE has built a customized chemical specification : "Beverage grade CO2". It is compliant with the strongest requirements of EC (E290) and International Society of Beverages Technologists (ISBT).

Carbon Dioxide

CO2 is used in the food business in 3 main areas:
• Carbonation of fizzing beverages such as soft drinks, mineral water or beer
• Packaging of foodstuffs, its inerting and bacteriostatic properties being used successfully in nitrogen mixtures
• As cryogenic fluid in chilling or freezing operations or as dry ice for temperature control during the distribution of foodstuffs.

Ozone

Ozone's very strong oxidation properties are sufficient to kill micro-organisms on food stuffs. Further, its short shelf life prevents products from any residual contamination. These interesting properties have been successfully used in fish farming water treatment, greenhouse nutritive solution recycling and sanitation of food products.
