Our food group of over 10 experts is working on cryogenics (heat transfer improvement), new atmosphere mixes, hygiene solutions and microbiology. Our skills base is developed through internal experiments and partnerships with universities worldwide.


To implement the original solutions developed by our research team, we have created ALTEC (AIR LIQUIDE Technology Centre), our continent-by-continent global network, to share knowledge and experience among 200 food specialists worldwide to provide international customers with the same solutions in every location.     



For example, our ALTEC Northern Europe center, based in Dusseldorf, Germany is responsible for further developing new processes and technologies and improving those which have been tried and tested for 10 European countries.

The Foodstuffs Technical Facility can carry out all known processes. It is particularly focused on our new CRUST FLOW™ range, used primarily for IQF products with a sensitive surface. Customers and other interested parties can visit the center, check on the efficiency of equipment and view each component as a model installation.
We demonstrate everything, from tank testing through lines to weighing cells, so that consumers benefit from seeing hard evidence. Our priority is to foster close co-operation between our food scientists and customers, since it enables new or improved processes and installations.
