Gas Sweetening [ Return towards Applications ]
MEDAL™ membranes can be an economical alternative for sweetening large quantities of natural gas, i.e., removal of CO2. These systems can reach recovery levels of over 90 %. They can be used in onshore or offshore plants. Their benefits include plant modularity, low capital investment, ease of operation and reliability. They are an attractive alternative to amine systems.
There is considerable interest in developing remote and large-scale natural gas fields. The technological alternatives to putting value into these gas reservoirs include; pipeline systems, liquefied natural gas and Gas To Liquids technologies (GTL). For GTL technologies, we have developed large single or multi-train air separation units that can provide the required oxygen and other industrial gases for these processes. We are continuously working out how to reduce the costs of these units to help reduce overall project investments.
