Enhanced UV and EB curing under inert conditions present the following advantages:

Productivity gains

Increased curing speeds

• The presence of oxygen in air during UV or EB curing can slow down or even halt the curing reactions, resulting in surfaces improperly cured. This is one of the crucial limitations of these technologies and inerting can therefore dramatically reduce curing time thanks to ultra fast free radical chain reactions in the absence of oxygen. Experiments show that under nitrogen atmosphere curing speeds can be increased by a factor of 2 or 3 compared to UV curing under air
• Compared to conventionnal drying techniques, the main advantage of these technologies is the ultra fast polymerisation of solvent-free formulations requiring a very limited space.
