Air Liquide has specifically developed a Gas Seal Kit (GSKit) that enables to perform either UV or EB curing under both low level of oxygen.
We have developed complete UV and EB curing solutions with our industrial partners in different countries all over the world:
Air Liquide has specifically developed a Gas Seal Kit (GSKit) that enables to perform either UV or EB curing under both low level of oxygen and reduced flow rates of nitrogen. Our Gas Seal Kit is a cost effective, reliable and safe inerting device which can be retrofitted to existing UV or EB chambers. A fully automated Process Control System will allow you to easily regulate the nitrogen flow rate through a dedicated gas distribution panel according to the desired residual concentration of oxygen and afford you full control of the cost and quality of your production processes. Some of the principal characteristics of our Gas Seal Kit are outlined below:

Thanks to a special design, a residual oxygen content lower than 50 ppm in the UV - or EB chamber can be reached using a very moderate nitrogen flow rate, even at web speeds up to 400 m/min.
A control cabinet conatins a gas fluid panel for nitrogen dispensing and an oxygen anlyzer for measuring the residual amount of oxygen. It also includes a user interface on which both the oxygen level and the nitrogen consumption are continuously displayed during operation. The process control systems regulates the flow rate of nitrogen according to the specified residual oxygen level.
This technology is an enviornmentally friendly process with zero off-gas emissions working under strong safety conditions.
As your safety is one of our major priorities, we offer, as part of our full guidance through your project and detailed instructions and training for the use, inspection and maintenance of your UV or EB curing systems in our Safety training program.
In case you already use curing technologies in your manufacturing processes, our experts will help you in the mounting and implementation of the Gas Seak Kit equipment to your existing UV or EB station. It is simple and implies few modifications. It can be easily removed from the UV or EB station which can be used as before. The Gas Seal Kit has no impact on the curing equipment.
The quantity of nitrogen needed depends strongly on the acceptable residual oxygen concentration. That is why our experts will work with you in order to optimize your gas consumption considering your substrate's nature and geometry, your curing speed and the formulation to be cured.
Air Liquide experts on UV and EB curing technologies will:
They will also determine with you the optimum delivering conditions. Given the volumes needed for the application, nitrogen supply will be ensured by either bulk cryogenci storage tank or on-site generation. the more economical of these two technologies will be offered to you depending on your volumetrics consumption. A combination of both may also be suitable according to your consumption profile.
