Air Liquide present at the international conference on new energies in Abu Dhabi

01/16/2009
Air Liquide is taking part in the World Future Energy Summit, an international conference on new energies. The Group will present its recent technological innovations to reduce CO2 emissions.

This event is being held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, from January 19 to 21, 2009. It will bring together over 15,000 participants, including a large amount of decision-makers.

Air Liquide, involved in the development of clean and sustainable solutions, is exhibiting its technological solutions for reducing the environmental impact of energy production and use, notably through the oxycombustion process. This technique is particularly well-adapted to the reduction of emissions that come from electricity production by thermal power plants that use coal. It makes it possible to capture and store CO2.

The Group is also presenting its latest advances in the clean alternative energy sector such as hydrogen used with a fuel cell and photovoltaic cells in which the Group’s gases are indispensables for their fabrication.

In the Middle East, Air Liquide is present in Egypt, Lebanon, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates where the Group has set up its Middle East head office. With its 350 employees, Air Liquide has invested about US$ 300 million over the 2002-2007 period and will go on in the coming years.
