On June 11, Air Liquide China donated 30 recycled computers, books and other school supplies to Liugong Primary School in Tianfu New District of Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Air Liquide China owns and operates two plants in this city, serving customers in manufacturing and electronics.
This is the sixth “Air Liquide Computer Classroom” that the company has supported to establish in China. Since 2012, Air Liquide has donated its internal computers that were refurbished by its partner Netspring to numerous schools in Hefei, Maoming, Yichun and Datong. This program aims to ensure students’ access to computers as a means for equipping them with essential knowledge and skills for the digital era. In addition, to broaden the horizon of the students, local volunteers from Air Liquide China will visit the school periodically to share knowledge on safety, science, environmental protection and other subjects.
Marcelo Fioranelli, President & CEO of Air Liquide China, commented: “We’re delighted to contribute to improving the learning environment for children in rural areas. Our donation will help to level the playing field and better prepare them for a bright future. Air Liquide China continues to commit itself to the long-term development of local communities in which it operates.”
Responsibility lies at the heart of Air Liquide. The company is devoted to developing local economies, protecting life and the environment, and contributing to communities. Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) umbrella program named “Air Liquide Care”, it promotes a series of initiatives in China, including “Air Liquide Computer Classroom” and the tree planting activity “Green Action”.
