Air Liquide has recently been awarded as China Top 100 IDEALTM Employers 2014 at the award ceremony in Shanghai organized by Universum, a global leader in employer branding. In this year’s Universum Student Survey nationwide, Air Liquide ranks 80 for students majoring in Natural Science and 93 for students majoring in Engineering.
Since 2006, Universum Student Survey has become an annual event in China. From October 2013 to January 2014, more than 51,000 students in the fields of natural sciences, business, engineering, law, humanities, liberal arts, and health/medicine from 103 Chinese universities participated in the survey co-organized by Universum and China Daily’s 21st Century English Newspaper. The survey results provide insight into the students’ perception of and preference to the organizations as employers in China.
Air Liquide has always attached great significance to talent attraction and development. In China, the company implements a very comprehensive campus recruitment plan, including campus onsite career talks, on-line dialog with students at well-known recruitment platform, company visits, internship programs and career development programs. Campus onsite talks are conducted at numerous universities, including Tsinghua University, Nanjing University of Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Dalian University of Technology, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Tianjing University, East China University of Science and Technology, Zhejiang University and Shandong University. Fresh graduate hiring programs such as “Yang Fan – International Development Program” and “Qi Hang - China Management & Technical Trainee Program”, as well as different internship programs all aim to explore young students with great potential. Particularly, the company’s Technical Career Ladder (TCL) system provides a technical career development path to its employees in addition to a conventional management career path. Furthermore, Air Liquide has been cooperating closely with top education institutions such as the strategic research partnerships with Shanghai Jiaotong University and Zhejiang University to boost innovation in China.
Mr. Marcelo Fioranelli, President & CEO of Air Liquide China, commented: “It’s an honor for us to be rated as China Top 100 IDEALTM Employers 2014. This not only recognizes the fruitful results of our human resources strategy but also demonstrates our long-term commitment to developing local talents and contributions to the local society in China.”
