Announcing the Revision of Industrial Gas Prices

Air Liquide Japan Ltd. (headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shiro Yahara) will be revising the retail price of industrial gases, as outlined below.

With the shortage of drivers in the logistics sector in recent years coupled with the introduction of work environment reforms, tighter regulations, and rising crude oil prices, the transport costs for general industrial gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen, and acetylene have significantly increased.

In addition, the production cost for acetylene has drastically risen due to the significant markup of its raw material carbide, as well as the rising cost of containers and other secondary materials.

While Air Liquide has attempted to work around these rising costs with rational measures such as improving production efficiency, cutting costs, and improving shipping efficiency, it is becoming increasingly difficult to mitigate the impact of these rising costs by our efforts alone. Therefore, we regret to inform you that we must revise our pricing as of shipments on January 1, 2019.

This is a revision that is necessary to ensure that we can continue to provide a steady supply of high-quality products and services to our customers. We thank you for your understanding.

1.Affected products

① General industrial gases, mixed gases (cylinder, LGC)

② Oxygen, nitrogen, argon (lorry products)

③ Acetylene gas (cylinder)

2.Timing of revision: From January 1, 2019

3.Extent of markup

① General industrial gases, mixed gases  (cylinder, LGC)  More than 20% increase from current price

② Oxygen, nitrogen, argon  (lorry products)  More than 10% increase from current price

③ Acetylene gas  (cylinder)  More than 20% increase from current price
