Air Liquide was born in 1902 in France, from a technological innovation: the industrialization of oxygen production from air.

Air Liquide's head office is historically based in Paris. Today, the Group is present throughout France and serves almost all sectors of the economy through its various entities, with more than 12,000 employees in 2024.

Relying on some fifty production units, Air Liquide France Industrie supplies gases, equipment and services to a wide variety of customers, from craftsmen to multinationals (Large Industries, Industrial Merchant and Electronics activities). This entity also supports the deployment of hydrogen energy in the country, both for the mobility of individuals and professionals.

A pharmaceutical laboratory specializing in gases for medical use, Air Liquide Santé France ensures the supply of medical gases, their distribution systems and associated services to hospitals, clinics, private practitioners and emergency services. The Group also supports patients with chronic pathologies through its Orkyn’, VitalAire, and Dinno santé brands. We provide personalized support in respiratory care, diabetes care, neurology, and infusion therapy. Working alongside healthcare professionals, we collaborate every day to help improve patients’ quality of life and make the healthcare system more efficient.

The Engineering & Technologies activity is responsible for designing and building the Group's production units and offering its external customers technologies and processes. It has an engineering site in Charenton and a manufacturing site in Vitry-sur-Seine, the Cryogenic Technology Center (CTC).

Finally, Air Liquide has several sites in France dedicated to innovation. Based in Saclay, the Paris Innovation Campus, flagship of the Group's R&D, notably hosts Accelair, the Group's start-up incubator. The Campus Technologies Grenoble focuses on deep tech and energy transition. Alizent (specialized in digital solutions for industry) and other teams supporting the Group's acceleration in the digital field, and in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in particular, are located in Paris.
