Air Liquide in France

It was in France that the Air Liquide adventure began in 1902. Starting from a simple idea - industrially producing oxygen from air - and the meeting of two French people, Paul Delorme and Georges Claude.

The Group's head office is historically based in Paris.

Air Liquide is active in the country through several entities which serve many areas of activity.

Relying on some fifty production units, Air Liquide France Industrie supplies gases, equipment and services to a wide variety of customers, from craftsmen to multinationals (Large Industries, Industrial Merchant and Electronics activities). This entity also supports the deployment of hydrogen energy in the country, both for the mobility of individuals and professionals.

A pharmaceutical laboratory specializing in gases for medical use, Air Liquide Santé France ensures the supply of medical gases, their distribution systems and associated services to hospitals, clinics, private practitioners and emergency services. The Group also supports patients with chronic pathologies, through several home healthcare brands.

For its part, the Engineering & Construction activity is responsible for designing and building the Group's production units and offering its external customers technologies and processes. It has an engineering site in Champigny-sur-Marne and two manufacturing sites in Vitry-sur-Seine, including a Cryogenic Technology Center.

Finally, Air Liquide has several sites in France dedicated to innovation. Based in Saclay, the Paris Innovation Campus, flagship of the Group's R&D, notably hosts Accelair, the Group's start-up incubator. The Campus Technologies Grenoble focuses on deep tech and energy transition. Alizent (specializing in digital solutions for industry) and the Digital Factory are located in Paris.
