Your candidate toolkit

Are you ready to join us?

Here are some tips to accompany you in the application process at Air Liquide. Just follow the steps!

Four steps to get you started

  • 1. Understand yourself

  • 2. Prepare your candidacy

  • 3. Apply

  • 4. Get ready for the interview

1. Understand yourself

To help us get to know you better, first, understand yourself! Here are some insightful questions to better understand your strengths, potential and key drivers.

2. Prepare your candidacy

Now that you understand yourself better, let’s translate that into your application!
Make sure your CV, cover letter and application form accurately reflect your experience and your interests. Your CV should be synthetic and well-organized, while your cover letter should convince us of what you could bring to the team. Be sure to proofread for any typos or errors!
Also take a fresh look at your LinkedIn profile to see if it needs updating.
Here are some practical points to look for!

Tips for your CV

  • Keep your CV well-organized, with the most relevant information at the top
  • A CV should be easy to read—not too many graphics or words, no spelling mistakes
  • Ensure your experiences are up-to-date and adapted to the job application
  • Check that the contact information is accurate

Tips for your cover letter

  • Do some background research on Air Liquide and the job you are applying for. Make good use of this information in your cover letter
  • Use a personal tone of voice that reflects your personality
  • Be direct and concise: avoid long sentences and go straight to the point.
  • Explain simply and clearly what it is you are looking for and what you have to offer (the letter should fit on an A4 page)
  • Focus on your strong points, preferably in the first few sentences
  • Don’t try to list everything on your CV in your letter
  • Show yourself in the best light without being arrogant and at the same time, don't underestimate yourself
  • Clearly explain your motivation and how your qualities correspond to the job offer
  • Talk about your long-term professional goals

Express yourself!

3. Apply

When you are ready with your CV and cover letter, apply for the job that suits you best!

Follow the application process, check to make sure everything is correct, and submit it: you will receive a confirmation email.

If you have been shortlisted for the position, you will be contacted shortly for a first interview.

Depending on the position, you might then have up to 3 to 5 interviews.
