Semiconductors: ultra-pure gases for a new fab in the United States
Discover this projectIn the U.S. state of Idaho, Air Liquide is building a next-generation gas production unit, called TCNTM, designed to meet the extreme purity requirements of the semiconductor industry. This investment of over 250 million dollars will supply nitrogen and other ultra-pure gases to the new plant of one of the world's leaders in the sector.

Air Liquide Normand’Hy
Discover this projectAt the heart of the Port-Jérôme industrial basin in Normandy, Air Liquide is building one of the world's largest PEM electrolyzers. With a capacity of 200 MW, this large-scale facility aims to produce renewable and low-carbon hydrogen on a large scale, to accelerate the energy transition in industry and mobility.
Trailblazer electrolyzer
In 2024, Air Liquide inaugurated a new renewable hydrogen production unit through electrolysis in Oberhausen, Germany. With a capacity of 20 MW, the Trailblazer electrolyzer, which is now connected to Air Liquide’s pipeline network, is gradually supplying hydrogen to local industrial and mobility customers.
Electrified Air Separation Unit (ASU) in China
Air Liquide accelerates the decarbonization of the Tianjin industrial basin in China. Two oxygen production units operated by the Group have been electrified and are now supplied with renewable energy following the signature of a multi-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) in China. Key outcome: 800,000 tonnes of CO₂ avoided.
Porthos project
The Porthos project is a large-scale initiative aiming at significantly reducing the environmental footprint of Europe's largest industrial port, Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Objective: to decarbonize this port area without deindustrializing it, thanks to an ambitious Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS) solution.
ELYgator project
In 2025, Air Liquide started construction of the ELYgator electrolyzer in Maasvlakte, within the Port of Rotterdam. This project marks a major milestone in the large-scale production of renewable and low-carbon hydrogen in Europe. Of strategic importance, this facility strengthens the Group's position as a key player in the energy transition.
Dresden: Ultra-pure gas complex in Germany
As part of a long-term contract with a major semiconductor player, Air Liquide is building new ultra-pure gas production units in the heart of Silicon Saxony in Germany. Valued at over 250 million euros, this is the Group’s largest investment to support Europe's semiconductor industry, thereby reinforcing its leadership on the continent.
