Martha Heitzmann has been appointed Vice-President Research & Development of the Air Liquide Group. She succeeds to François Jackow, who took over the management of Air Liquide Japan and Japan Air Gases.

Having held various environmental management positions with the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, she has been, from 1999 to 2007, Principal Administrator, Performance and Environmental Information Division at the OECD. In this position at the OECD, Martha Heitzmann acquired an in-depth understanding of how industrialized countries are working to integrate sustainable development objectives into various sectors such as energy, industry, transport and agriculture.

Her experience gives Air Liquide Group a strategic vision of the trends of economic incentives and the regulations in these important markets.

Born in 1967, Martha Heitzmann holds a bachelor’s degree in Ecology and Natural Resource Management from the University of Arizona, masters and doctorate degrees in Environmental Engineering from Harvard and an MBA from the Collège des Ingénieurs. She has dual French and American nationality.
