Across the USA, growth in high-tech manufacturing, data centers and liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports is creating requirements for industrial gas supply – often involving tight process control, higher volumes, and complex logistics. On the front line of this transformation is Airgas, a fully owned Air Liquide subsidiary and a leading USA supplier of industrial, medical, and specialty gases. Operating in fast-growing segments of the USA energy market, Airgas delivers solutions that match technical requirements with safe, efficient, and scalable operational execution.
Capturing high-tech renewable energy opportunities
As solar manufacturing capacity expands in the USA, production lines increasingly depend on tightly controlled process gas mixtures. In this field, increasing output of high-performance photovoltaic panels, maintaining an ultra-exact process gas blend is essential to ensure consistent production quality.
Airgas responded to this by deploying a customized GMX gas mixing system through its ALTEC1 Engineering team. The solution was designed to deliver a stable gas mixture tailored to the customer's specifications, while integrating monitoring capabilities to track purity and performance in real time. By combining engineering expertise with digital supervision, Airgas enabled its customer to secure maximum uptime on a highly sensitive production line while maintaining rigorous quality standards.
Scaling infrastructure to support global energy security
At the same time, surging energy demand is driving massive infrastructure investments across the USA, particularly in strategic assets for global energy supply such as LNG export capacity. In Texas, the construction of large LNG export terminals requires sustained access to high-volume, industrial-grade welding gases throughout extended construction phases.
To meet this need, Airgas designed and implemented a rugged jobsite skid solution tailored for large construction sites. The system replaced thousands of individual cylinders with high-capacity mobile units, simplifying on-site logistics and ensuring a continuous gas supply. This approach accelerated welding operations critical to the progress of these LNG facilities, while improving safety and reliability on complex construction sites.
Through these targeted actions, Airgas confirms its role as a strategic partner to USA industry, combining engineering expertise, logistical scale and proximity to customers to seize the growth opportunities created by the evolving energy market.
