Deployment of the HeatOx™ technology for Verallia’s furnaces in Brazil
In Campo Bom, southern Brazil, Verallia inaugurated a new oxycombustion glass furnace equipped with Air Liquide's HeatOx™ technology - a first implementation for this technology in the Americas. By recovering heat from flue gases to preheat oxygen and natural gas used in combustion, the solution improves combustion efficiency and reduces fuel consumption, cutting carbon emissions by up to 20% compared with conventional furnaces. This new Verallia glass furnace increases production capacity by around 820 tonnes of glass per day and supports more than 100 direct jobs on site, enabling Verallia to respond to growing demand from Brazil's wine sector while advancing its decarbonization roadmap.
New fermentation biotechnologies lab in the USA
In Delaware, Seppic has opened a fermentation biotechnologies laboratory at the Air Liquide Innovation Campus. This state-of-the-art facility expands Seppic's R&D capabilities to develop high-performance, bio-based ingredients for cosmetics and health sectors. These ingredients offer a limited environmental footprint and minimized impact on biodiversity and land use, as they can be grown in tanks. Located alongside Seppic's American Customer Technical Service Center and Air Liquide Group R&D teams, the laboratory benefits from strong scientific synergies and access to a dynamic USA biotechnology ecosystem, marking a significant step in the internationalization of Seppic's R&D activities.
