Our story

Air Liquide established its presence in Turkey in 2008 and as of today is the third largest industrial gas player in Turkey.

Air Liquide offers innovative and differentiating solutions - industrial gases, equipment and services - in the key Turkish industrial regions to a wide variety of customers in the Industry and Healthcare sectors.

Air Liquide in Turkey now owns and operates 5 air separation units (ASUs) for the production of liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon, and 4 cylinder filling centers in order to supply reliably all its customers across the country.

Air Liquide Turkey is strongly committed to achieving the highest level of health and safety, quality, food safety and environmental (HSEQ) performance, in compliance with Turkish and applicable international regulations.

Over the past years, Air Liquide development in Turkey was marked by many events among which :

  • 2011: Air Liquide signed a long term agreement with petrochemicals giant Socar/Petkim, related to the supply of oxygen, nitrogen and compressed air for the Aliağa site in the Izmir region.
  • 2013: the Group further expanded its activities in Turkey by investing in an oxygen and liquid nitrogen production unit and cylinder filling center located in Polatli in the Ankara region.
  • 2015: Air Liquide accelerated its growth in the Turkish market with the acquisition of Messer Aligaz Sanayi Gazlari, a subsidiary of industrial gas company Messer Group GmbH. The combination of the two companies further increased Air Liquide’s capacity to create value for its customers. This acquisition is part of continued investments by Air Liquide in Turkey.

With this acquisition, Air Liquide entered the Marmara region and is now be present in the three main industrial areas of the country: Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir.
