Relying on responsible suppliers
Our responsible procurement policy is an integral part of our Sustainable Development and Responsibility approach.
The responsible procurement policy
To fulfill our ambition to be the leader in our industry, delivering long-term performance and acting responsibly, we expect all our suppliers to respect the Group’s ethical principles and ensure that all their employees and subcontractors comply with its Suppliers’ Code of Conduct.
We expect all our suppliers to respect the Group’s ethical principles
The Group’s responsible procurement policy makes use of several tools:
- A Code of Conduct for buyers, translated into 13 languages
- The inclusion of sustainable development clauses in purchasing framework contracts. This clause allows for the possibility of social and environmental evaluation and conducting external audits at the suppliers and subcontractors concerned. They also include compulsory reporting elements from the supplier, in particular on safety, energy and water consumption, and social rights
- A leading supplier evaluation. Supplier evaluation campaigns are conducted annually by the Group, and include the possibility of on-site audits
- A Suppliers Code of Conduct was rolled-out by the Group in 2013
