Physicist Georges Claude succeeded in liquid air production and founded Air Liquide in France in 1902. Five years later in 1907, Air Liquide installed an oxygen generator at Sakurajima in Osaka, the advent of the industrial gas history in Japan. Air Liquide has ever since kept its presence of supporting the rise of the Japanese industry with industrial gas products – such as oxygen – relevant equipment and technology. About 2,000 employees are working today at Air Liquide, engaged in the service offered to 15,000 customers nationwide in various sectors, including steel, chemical, metal processing, food, electronics and healthcare.
