Scaling low-carbon solutions and essential services across EAMEI

Europe, Africa, Middle East and India (EAMEI) is a contrasting crossroads between industrial maturity and high-growth potential.

While Europe’s industrial landscape is being reshaped, it remains a major consumers’ market as well as a technological leader defining global standards, notably for the energy transition. Simultaneously, India, the third largest economy by 20301, is emerging as a major growth driver for Air Liquide, driven by robust industrial demand.

In 2025, the Middle East and Africa have experienced rapid growth, benefiting from economic diversification, infrastructure development, and evolving industrial and energy sectors. Notwithstanding evolving regional situations in a volatile environment, Air Liquide is uniquely positioned to leverage these complementary dynamics, scaling low-carbon hydrogen projects, optimizing the way healthcare is made available to patients, and supporting strategic industries.

The European industry is currently navigating a changing environment, with market pressures and growing competition. Many industries, particularly in the chemical, metallurgical and automotive sectors, are facing these challenges, with direct implications for our activities across the region.

Yet the picture is more nuanced across the broader EAMEI geography. While Europe contends with these headwinds, we see continued momentum in other parts of the region, particularly in India, where industrial demand remains robust. However, we can rely on our solid foundations. Over recent years, we have built a strong track record in decarbonization projects, securing long-term contracts with key customers in robust industrial basins in France, the Benelux and Germany, as well as a landmark decarbonization strategy in South Africa.

In parallel, Europe also remains a key growth platform for semiconductors, where we build long-standing partnerships with our customers. Our strong local footprint enables us to closely accompany industrial players while contributing to Europe’s sovereignty and resilience.

As a leader in these two areas with clear structural growth potential, supported by highly committed teams and strengthened by organizational transformation to enhance adaptability Air Liquide is well positioned to capture emerging opportunities across EAMEI.
