Semiconductor chips are everywhere in our daily lives: smartphones, computers, cars, home appliances... They enable the systems and products that we use to work, communicate, travel, entertain, harness energy, treat illness, make new scientific discoveries, and more. Air Liquide is the world leading supplier of gases and services to the semiconductor industry. Find out more about our role with our experts in video.

The ultra-pure gases as well as high value-added and tailor-made molecules we provide are essential throughout the chip manufacturing process. Air Liquide's worldwide presence, particularly in the three main semiconductor hubs (Asia, US, Europe) allows the Group to be close to its customers’ chip fabrication plants wherever they are.

From Tokyo, Taiwan and Pennsylvania, our experts tell us more about the Group’s contribution to this booming sector in this video.

Air Liquide is also actively helping its customers in the semiconductor industry to reduce their environmental impact. Whenever it is possible, the Group optimizes the energy consumption of its production units, is committed to increasing the use of renewable electricity and produces the gases supplied to its customers onsite, thus avoiding the emissions linked to road transportation. Thanks to its unique innovation capacity and culture, Air Liquide is also developing innovative and low Global Warming Potential advanced materials that help improve the performance of semiconductor devices while reducing their environmental impact.

  • What is the connection between Air Liquide and the smart devices we use in everyday life? These devices all rely on increasingly powerful, miniaturized chips. And behind those tiny essential components, you will find Air Liquide molecules.
