For over 100 years, welding and cutting gases have been at the heart of Air Liquide’s offer. Over time, our expertise has evolved to meet the changing needs of our customers and technologies. We continually adapt our gas solutions to respond to the challenges of construction and manufacturing processes.
Welding and cutting are industrial fabrication processes used to transform raw materials - plate metal, tube stock, etc. - into machines and structures.
Cutting is used to separate pieces of metal sheets, structures and pipes. This is achieved by using flame, plasma or laser cutting where the gas is an active component to melt, burn, vaporize or blow away excess material, thereby creating clean edges.
The right gas for each particular situation
Welding joins these materials, usually metals, by melting their edges so that they fuse together. The main process is arc welding. For this process, a gas is required to shield the liquid pool from the air. Argon-based mixtures are the industry standard.
Air Liquide understands the unique nature of its customers’ needs and brings them the right gas for their particular situation.
To this end, we supply welding and cutting premium gases to actors involved in the following industries:
For these industries, our primary offer is based on three leading gas ranges:
