Frankfurt Research & Technology Center

Frankfurt Research & Technology Center (FRTC) is committed to clean conversion of traditional and alternative raw materials to high-added-value products, decreasing dependency on fossil resources.

Air Liquide R&D centers, hosting a wide range of competencies, support the Group in achieving the highest level of excellence in the technologies it provides to its customers.
At FRTC, the development of innovative solutions for the conversion of fossil materials and biomass feedstock into synthesis gas, hydrogen, fuels and chemicals is supported by 2 Global Labs:

  • Process Engineering
  • Analytical Science

Frankfurt Research and Technology Center arose in 2009 from the former Lurgi GmbH R&D center, founded in 1937. Through applied research and development, FRTC generates ideas and transforms them into sustainable and innovative solutions to support Air Liquide's business.
